Terms and Conditions

By submitting a booking form, you are deemed to have read and agreed to the following terms:

1. The gite (the “Property”) is offered for holiday rental subject to confirmation by Steve or Lindsay Butcher (the “Owners”) to the renter (the “Client”). 

2. To reserve the Property the Client should contact the Owners who will confirm the provisional booking and reserve on the calendar.  The client will then forward a cheque for £250 to 5 Limetree Close, Chatham, Kent ME50DR.  The date will be reserved for a period of 10 days to allow time for the cheque to clear.  Once cleared, Lindsay or Steve will contact the client and confirm the booking.  The deposit is non-returnable if the booking is cancelled. 

3. If payment of the deposit is not received and cleared within 10 days, the provisional booking will be cancelled.

4. The full rental cost of the property is due to be paid on arrival in Euros.  The deposit paid in GBP will be held over as a damages deposit and will be returned at the end of the holiday, providing there are no damages to the property or its contents.  The Client is strongly recommended to arrange a comprehensive travel & holiday insurance policy (including cancellation cover) and to have full cover for the party’s personal belongings, public liability etc., since these are not covered by the Owner’s insurance.

5. Any chargeable expenses incurred by the Client during the rental period should be settled with the Owners before departure and any damages should be disclosed.

6. The rental period shall commence at 3.00 pm on the first day and finish at 10.00 am on the last day. The Owners shall not be obliged to offer the accommodation before the time stated and the Client shall not be entitled to remain in occupation after the time stated.

7. The maximum number entitled to reside in the Property must not exceed that detailed on the booking form, unless agreed by the Owners.

8. The Client agrees to be a considerate guest and to take good care of the Property and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period. If the Client leaves the Property in an unacceptable condition, additional cleaning or repair costs may be deducted from the deposit.

9. The Client shall report to the Owners without delay any defects in the Property or breakdown in the equipment or appliances in the Property and arrangements for repair and/or replacement will be made as soon as is practical.

10. The Owners shall not be liable to the Client:-

a. for any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the Property, nor in respect of any equipment or appliance in the Property.

b. for any loss, damage or injury, which is the result of adverse weather conditions or anything beyond the control of the Owners.

c. for any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the Client if the Property shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period and in any such event, the Owners shall, within seven days of notification to the Client, refund to the Client all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period.

d. The owner reserves the right, without prior notice, to alter or modify the property from that depicted in the promotional material and/or web site.

11. Under no circumstances shall the Owner’s liability to the Client exceed the amount paid to the Owners for the rental period.

12. No pets are permitted at the gite

13. Smoking inside the gite is not permitted.
