By car

Driving is straight forward and will take about 5hrs from the Brittany ports and about 7hrs from Calais ports. The best routes are the toll roads (they are pleasure to drive on and quick) and it cost about 44 Euros from Calais and less from Brittany.  We drive from Calais and prefer heading to Rouen, le Mans,Tours, Poiters and then head for Angouleme on the N10 (free road).  Turn off at Ruffec then follow the signs first to Cognac, then pick up Airgre, then Rouillac and finally Sigogne (Easy Really).  It should take no more than approx 45mins from Ruffec. You can also use www.viamichelin.com to provide step by step directions all the way
